Extra high temperature ceramics on the base of pyrolitic boron nitride (PBN)

PYROLITIC BORON NITRIDE (PBN) is a ultra-pure nonporous, nontoxic, high temperature dielectric material. It features strong anisotropy of physical and mechanical properties:

• extra high chemical resistance
• high thermal stability
• extremely high electrical receptivity
• highest dielectric strength
• high directional thermal conductivity
• thermal shock resistance

Pyrolitic boron nitride items is very stable at high temperature:

• slow volatilization at 2073 K under the vacuum or under inert atmosphere
• melting temperature 3283 K (under nitrogen pressure)

Pyrolitic boron nitride is used for:

• crucibles for semiconductors syntheses and growing
• evaporating cells (crucibles) for molecular beam epitaxy (MBE)
• a boron source in p-type diffusion furnaces
• microwave windows for high frequency satellite applications
• heat sink in high power electronics
• electrical insulator
• high-temperature furnace components
• crucibles for casting noble metals (Au, Pt, Pd, etc.)
